U.S.M.C. Veteran & artist Randall Thornton is devoted to highlighting the benefits of the arts & expression through creative means. His artwork often seeks to find the light while drawing upon mixed feelings relating to his twenty-year military career & childhood trauma. Art is a safe place to challenge the conventional representations & assumptions of military personnel in media/popular culture. With his art, Thornton seeks to both pique interest in the arts as an outlet among former service members as well as highlight unique concerns of veteran and active-duty personnel that are poorly understood by the general public.
My name is Randall Thornton Jr. & I reside in Northland with my wife and children (human/canine/feline).
I am a Kansas City native, retired US Marine, Design/Fine Arts major at Park University and lifelong art lover.
After leaving an art program in my youth to pursue a military career, I have been given the opportunity in to further my education and have found my way back to pursue my passion!
Take a look around and I hope you enjoy my work!
